New Year's Resolutions

New Year's Resolutions

Our New Year's resolution is to add a little sparkle wherever we go... and to bring you more products, brands and shop features. What's more, we'd like to share with you ideas and tips for how to use our products. Today, we made this simple card featuring a brand we have added to our shop a few days ago.
I was making this card thinking of my friend who will soon start a new job and instead of a 'good luck' card I thought this would be a cheeky alternative.
I have used rubber stamps from Stamping Bella's Oddball collection - Sparkle Fairy which is stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press Blending Card with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured the stamp with Copic Ciao markrers and cut it out with stitch effect rectangle cutting dies. I assembled the elements with doublesided tape and popped my sentiment on top with self adhesive foam squares. To finish it off I added a few yellow enamel dots and voilà!
You can find the list of products I used, below the picture:

Paper - X-Press Blending Card
Ink - Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
Copic Markers - BV00, V09, Y08, Y11, BV08, C7, C5, C3, E51

CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - SUNDAY - QUILLING COMB

CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - SUNDAY - QUILLING COMB

On our last day of the Craft Tools Week, we'd like to say a few words about a quilling comb.
A quilling comb looks exactly like a hair comb with metal prongs.  Comb is widely used in making different designs of quilling flowers, angels butterflies and other floral designs though the usage is not limited to it.
Quilling comb usually has 15 prongs and uses looping technique to make different shapes. Some quilling combs have numerical references to tell you how to wrap the paper around the quilling comb.
The quilling-comb method is a quick and easy way to make evenly shaped loops inside each coil.
A small but a very helpful tool which you can get in every good craft shop however some crafters use a normal hair comb instead.
CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - SATURDAY - FRINGING SCISSORS

CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - SATURDAY - FRINGING SCISSORS

In today's post say hello to the fringing scissors!
With 5 blades linked together, you can get 5 cuts in a single stroke and make your cutting 5 times faster.
With these scissors you can make tall grass, flowers, hair, the tiers in the pretty dress of a doll, the mane of a lion and a lot lot more.
The evenly spaced blades give you an even set of cuts and then the sky is the limit!
CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - FRIDAY - QUILLING GRID

CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - FRIDAY - QUILLING GRID

Quilling grid is another useful tool which helps you control paper strips to create various shapes.
The grid usually comes with circa 20 pins. The pins allow you to form desiderd shapes, for example: square, trialngle or diamond. The pins have no head so paper slides off nicely when your design is complete.
We offer two types of grids in our store:
Without pin drawer
With a pin drawer to help you keep the pins in one place

CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - THURSDAY - GLUE BOTTLE

CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - THURSDAY - GLUE BOTTLE

There is no question about it. For any project which requires glue, you need a glue bottle.
A glue bottle helps you avoid making mess and wasting glue. It makes application more precise your work quicker and your life easier.
You can find different types and size of bottles on the market. For example, with or without an applicator. However, we found that the key to a good bottle is for it to be soft enough to allow for glue to be squeezed out easily by applying only a little pressure. If the bottle is too hard, precise application is more difficult and you may end up squeezing out too much glue.
We think we found a bottle that you will like and it has become one of our bestsellers.
This fine tip glue bottle holds approximately 10ml of liquid and is made of plastic that is easy to squeeze. It has a soft plastic cap for the tip to save the glue from drying. Simply fill the empty bottle with your favorite glue, then use to apply small drops or fine lines. We recommend regularly soaking the tip in hot water to dissolve the glue that will accumulate with time. You can also use pin to unclog the tip if the glue starts drying out.
CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - WEDNESDAY - QUILLING MOULD

CRAFT TOOLS WEEK - WEDNESDAY - QUILLING MOULD

Another day and another useful craft tool in a nutshell - Quilling Mould.
Whilst Quilling Mould is not essential for every crafter, it is indispensable if you want to explore 3D quilling. 3D quilling opens up a brand new ocean of creative possibilities. The most common shape in this type of quilling is a dome shape. This is where Quilling Mould comes in.
With your domes you can create animals, human figures, dolls, Christmas baubles, baskets, eggs, paper beads for jewelery projects and many. many more.
You can find a standard mould in any good craft shop and in our shop we have a unique 18 shapes mould which offers more options than the standard tools. Now you can create even more different shapes and sizes of domes!

Hey there!

Hey there!

Hello and welcome to Crafty Wizard world!
We're very excited writing our first post.
You may wonder where the idea for our shop came from? Well, it all started with my Mum who is passionate about quilling, cardmaking, kusudama and anything paper crafts related. She kept saying that there isn't enough selection (for her tastes) in local shops or online and buying abroad is costly.
To make her happy (Mums are super important!) we decided to open an online business to cater for all those Crafty Wizards out there who need a UK based shop with variety of products at affordable prices.
You might have already clicked through our website and see our product range. We currently have one promotion for new customers (10% off your first order using code WELCOME at checkout).
If you are a Facebook user and love competition you may want to have a sneek peek for the chance to win a £15 voucher to spend on any product in our range.
